Before this discussion is concluded, mention should be made of the counterfeit work that shall be done by Satan in the end time. One of the observations that we make of the way God works is He always does His work according to purpose and to plan.

These four emphases serve to structure this article. And you must listen this morning, not only with your heart, but you must listen with your mind, and ask God for the spirit of understanding as we expound the Word of the Lord.

The gifts of the Spirit are those sovereign abilities that are bestowed upon us for Christian service. " While I was a seminary student, I was pastor of a small rural church. Matthew chapter 12, verse 28.

When God calls, we must answer and then we must obey. And the new dispensation is opened for the Gentiles. There are people today who no doubt are seeing physical miracles take place who do not believe in the virgin birth, who pray to the virgin Mary, and who do not believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible and other foundational truths.

When we talk about the gift of the Spirit, we will be talking about the fact that, the moment that we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are given the Holy Spirit.

Do Not Quench the Spirit

Whenever you read the book of God in nature, or read the Book of God in the revelation, He will be just the same. There are three great periods in the divine revelation to man. Your conscience is the voice of your spirit and it is your conscience that will relate to your mind what the Spirit of God is saying to you in your heart. We must change and only God can change us.

As believers we have been created to be the containers of God. The Spirit also filled the believers and empowered them to become His witness.

It must have been a time of confession for them too. Matthew chapter 1, verse 18 through verse 20. After this, God will come and dwell with men for one thousand years in the person of Chris t. It is expedient for you that I go away, for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you. There is a certain sense in which that may be quite proper occasionally, of course, but not as a superceding theme as we see in Protestantism and other nondenominational groups.

It probably is not a reference to the Holy Spirit. This is true regardless of the age of your church, the size of your church, or the denomination of your church.
