The aim of this study was to analyse how Finnish early childhood education and care responds to the needs of child welfare client children and their parents. If intensified support is not enough, special support is provided. The Finnish National Agency for Education updated the National Core Curriculum for ECEC in December 2018. The parents were grateful for and satisfied with ECEC services, despite the fact that they also had some criticisms. In ECEC, the opportunities to help children and families at risk of serious problems is not always ideal, although the quality of Finnish and Nordic ECEC ranks highly among Western countries Economist Intelligence Unit. Education for people with disabilities was provided in the form of philanthropic activities by individuals and charitable organisations. The year before school starts at the age of seven, part-time preschool is provided free of charge, which is attended by almost all children.

Four Ways Schools Can Support the Whole Child

For example, teachers can connect lessons in mathematics to common tasks students are engaged in that use those skills, such as in cooking, artwork, sports, and other settings.
